During 2012 the central bank of the Argentine republic "BCRA" began imposing exchange controls to protect the value of the Argentine currency and the foreign currency reserves in the BCRA. Those controls have been strengthened in 2013 both by the BCRA and the federal administration of public revenue to prevent the fall of foreign exchange reserves.
