The German Parliament (Bundestag) and the Bundesrat have resolved the 2nd Financial Market Stabilization Act (2nd FMStG, the Act). It will soon come into force. The Act empowers the Financial Market Stabilization Fund (SoFFin) again to provide stabilization measures according to the Financial Market Stabilization Fund Act (FMStFG) to the financial industry. The deadline for filing applications for most of the stabilization measures had ended on December 31, 2010.
