Economic turmoil is never a positive for
M&A activity. Uncertainty may result
in specific, isolated opportunities,
but it generally leads to a reluctance to do
transactions because buyers can't predict
their own future, much less get an exact
handle on what they're buying. The current
market instability has reduced transaction
activity across the board, and particularly in
the financial sector, which has been a huge
