On June 17th, the Obama Administration released its long-anticipated proposal for financial regulatory reform (the "Proposal"). The Proposal, entitled "Financial Regulatory Reform: A New Foundation," states that its essential goals are "to address the causes of the current economic crisis, to create a more stable financial system that is fair for consumers, and to help prevent and contain potential crises in the future."
