The European Regulation on chemicals REACH provides rules for all European companies manufacturing, importing, distributing or using chemicals. However, this European Regulation also affects non-EU manufacturers importing into the EU. Under the regulation, companies are required to register chemicals. Without such registration, the chemicals are not permitted to be put on the market. However, companies have been able to buy time in order to satisfy the registration.
