Outside Nexsen Pruet

During the warmer months, Christy spends her time outside of the office on the golf course with her son, a prodigious golfer with a 2 handicap. As his sponsor and sometime caddy, they have travelled to tournaments throughout the Southeast and to Scotland and Ireland. Christy recently had her first hole in one and hopes to follow that with many more.

When the snow starts to fall, Christy can be found working at Sugar Mountain. She started patrolling the North Carolina ski slopes in 1976 and has been certified as a Senior Ski Patroller. Of course, this is based on skill level rather than on age!

A typical day on the slopes starts around 7:00 am and ends at 6:00 pm when all of the skiers are off the mountain. Unfortunately injuries abound on the ski slopes where beginners take to the hill with little or no experience or teaching. Most injuries involve soft-tissue injuries to the knees or dislocations of shoulders or wrists but occasionally, there are more serious injuries like broken bones, concussions and heart attacks. In such life and death situations, quick and decisive action must be taken which is not dissimilar to her experience as a bankruptcy attorney.

As if patrolling does not provide enough exhilaration, Christy also skis competitively. She won the Gold Medal at the 2008 NASTAR National Championships in Colorado in her young age group.
