Criminal Cases Heighten Need for Document Retention Policies

Two recent criminal matters ¿ the obstruction of justice conviction of a leading investment banker, and an indictment alleging violation of a provision of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act forbidding document destruction ¿ highlight the importance of document retention policies and practices for corporations, particularly after a corporation becomes aware of a government investigation.
