This overview takes a look at some of the debates already underway at the Florida Capitol in the areas of state appropriations, property insurance, taxes, commerce, energy, environment, growth management, health care and local government. It remains to be seen how these issues will be impacted by a highly-popular and also populist Republican Governor Charlie Crist, a strongly-conservative South Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio and an estimated additional $2 billion shortfall in the current budget.
