Strengths. Our international group has experience and skills in the many different practice areas in which we, as a major international law firm, excel. Among the principal areas of our international practice are the following:

  • Arbitration/Disputes
  • Energy
  • Intellectual Property
  • Project Finance

Arbitration/Disputes. Our clients, independent surveys and our peers consider our firm to be among the leading law firms in the world in the areas of international arbitration, alternative dispute resolution and litigation. Our lawyers serve as arbitrators and counsel for parties in international arbitrations under ad hoc proceedings as well as the rules of the ICC, the London Court of International Arbitration, AAA, UNCITRAL and ICSID, among others. Our American trial practice represents U.S. and global clients in virtually every area of the law.

Energy. Fulbright has played a leading role in the international energy industry since the founding of our law firm in Houston, Texas, nearly 85 years ago. We have represented more than 1,000 energy-related clients, and have experience in virtually every significant legal issue and matter affecting the global energy industry. Our international team regularly provides counsel around the world to this important global industry. We estimate that, since 1995 alone, Fulbright has provided counsel in more than 500 significant energy industry transactions having a total value in excess of US$100 billion.

Intellectual Property. Fulbright has one of the largest intellectual property practices of any law firm. We are consistently ranked among the leading U.S. firms for domestic and international patent, trademark, copyright, licensing and other intellectual property matters. Our highly experienced international team helps our clients to obtain and protect intellectual property rights globally.

Project Finance. Fulbright represents multilateral financial institutions, commercial banks, governmental entities, developers, sponsors, investors and others in connection with the structured financing of all types of infrastructure projects in locations throughout the world.
