On June 17, 2009, President Obama announced a Financial Regulatory Reform U.S. Plan ("U.S. Plan") which is designed to overhaul the financial regulatory system by, among others, creating a systemic risk regulator, enhancing the roles of existing federal regulators, and creating a consumer protection agency.
