Certificate of Need Batching Review Cycle Notification for Skilled Nursing Facilities/Intermediate Care Facilities

On April 3, 2012, the Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility Regulation Division ("HFRD"), notified that it will not accept or review any Certificate-of-Need ("CON") applications for new or expanded Skilled Nursing Facilities or Intermediate Care Facilities during the current batching review cycle. The next assessment of needs for new or expanded Skilled Nursing Facilities/Intermediate Care Facilities will occur no later than September 23, 2012. The HFRD also will not accept applications for Medicare distinct part nursing units.

However, the HFRD will accept applications for new or expanded Skilled Nursing Facilities or Intermediate Care Facilities filed pursuant to the need methodology for special groups with limited access at Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. § 111-2-2-.30(3)(d)(2).

Parties interested in applying under the section must notify HFRD in writing of the party's intent to apply no later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
