In an April 15, 2008 Open Letter (the "Letter") to Health Care Providers, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) revised the requirements of the OIG Provider Self-Disclosure Protocol (SDP), under which health care providers can voluntarily report fraudulent conduct affecting Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health care programs.
