Previously published on August 2005

Based on recent numbers released by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), it appears that the H-1B Cap for FY 2006 has nearly been reached. As of August 5, 2005, almost 52,000 of the available 58,200 H-1B visas (reduced from 65,000 by the allotment of 6,800 H-1B visas for Chilean and Singaporean nationals) have either been approved by or are pending with USCIS. Once this cap is reached, H-1B visas will not be available again for usage until October 1, 2006.
