Decision Shows Why Mark Owners Must Act Quickly Against Bad-Faith Applications |

The Turkish Patent Institute has upheld an opposition by the US owner of the trademark LE WHIF, which covers inhalers, against the registration of an identical mark by a Turkish individual for identical and similar goods. Among other things, the TPI found that the applicant, who had a history of applying for the registration of famous foreign trademarks, had acted in bad faith.
