Prosecution Process of the Social Offenses Committed By Twitter |

As it is known, Twitter company does not have a representative office located in Turkey. How people in Turkey can initiate a criminal investigation against each other or demand a compensation when they are subject to a defamation or a duress happened by the use of Twitter.
Before demanding a compensation or initiating a criminal lawsuit it should be determined that to whom that Twitter account belongs to.
First of all, the IP(Internet Protocol) address needs to be determined.
SinceTwitter does not have a representative company here in Turkey, IP address shouldbe asked from the headquarter office of Twitter located in San Fransisco.
The Turkish Prosecutor Office should prepareand submit a letter to the American Prosecutor’s Office afterwards, The American Prosecutor’s Office can legally reach to the Twitter Company.
This application process takes a lot of timeso according to Ms.Tan it would be better for Twitter Company to open arepresentative office in Turkey also.
On the other hand, Ms Tan states that Twitter Company restricts it’s responsibilityand regarding to its terms of use Twitter Company will not be responsible fromany of it’s users fault so nobody can file lawsuit against Twitter Company for the losses arisen from the user’s use of Twitter.
Also, if any reason causes the responsibility ofTwitter, a lawsuit can only be initiated according to the American Law at theSan Fransisco Courts.
