Martindale-Hubbell Savlation Army Angel Tree

End of Year Recap, Part I: Holiday Giving with the Salvation Army

Since the New Year, Martindale-Hubbell has hit the ground running using the time to prepare ourselves for our new products and services to come this year. We wanted to take a breather to share some of our end of year programs that our employees participated in to make our northern New Jersey community a better place.

Our first recap took place in December 2016. For the 11th consecutive year, Martindale-Hubbell participated in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree & Adopt a Family programs, designed to brighten the holidays for local children and families in need. Sponsored by the Salvation Army of Plainfield, these programs gave us at Martindale-Hubbell the chance to extend our hand of service to 50 “angels” and their families in Arbor, Avon Park, Fanwood, North Plainfield, Plainfield, Scotch Plains, South Plainfield, Warren and Watchung. Each sponsored child, from infants to 12-year-olds, received three toys, clothing and other items.

Lt. Sara Barney, Corps Commanding Office sent all our employees who sponsored an angel this thank you letter,

We at The Plainfield Salvation Army want to thank Martindale-Hubbell for participating in our 2016 angel tree and adopt a family programs. It is because of your generosity by sponsoring 50 angels that over 323 families had a Christmas to remember. Each family received a holiday meal with all the trimmings. Every sponsored child received 3 toys, clothing and more!

We have been serving Plainfield and the surrounding communities for 125 years. Had it not been for your assistances hundreds of children would have had to go without.

The Salvation Army of Plainfield has served the community for 125 years, sponsoring and organizing a wide range of beneficial youth and senior programs throughout the year. In the Angel Tree program, launched in 1979, volunteers choose tags from the tree that carry the name, gender and age of a child along with a Christmas wish list from that child or his/her family. Common requests giving companies the ability to make Christmas truly special for children in need include:

  • clothing
  • diapers
  • toys
  • sports equipment

Martindale-Hubbell was honored to mark its 11th year supporting this cause. We maintain a strong commitment to service, giving back to local organizations whose work make our community a better place to live, work and do business.
