It is an unfortunate fact of life that some products cause unforeseen dangers, and must be recalled. From the manufacturers’ perspective, it is also unfortunate that product recall announcements can quickly lead to class action lawsuits. Recalls generate copious adverse publicity, and plaintiffs’ lawyers can learn of many recalls almost immediately, even before most of the affected consumers.
