DOT Ramps Up Enforcement of Disability Access Regulations

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) recently launched an aggressive enforcement campaign against airlines who fail to comply with its regulations prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability in air travel. Airlines who fail to follow these regulations face large civil penalties, the inevitable expense of conforming their aircraft and training to the DOT's rules, and the accompanying negative publicity. The good news for airlines is that this pain is avoidable with proper planning and training.
