Experience & Credentials
| Admission Details | 2002, Utah | | Education | Troy State University, B.S.B.A.; University of San Diego, J.D. | | Additional Bio Details | I am experienced in representing client's in both mediation and litigation. I love the personal aspects of helping clients through the stressful events and challenges that family and elder law entail. I enjoy assisting clients in finding peace of mind vis-a-vis taking a mediative approach, yet am competent at resorting to litigation if necessary to find the best solution for my client's dilemma. I am assertive, but not arrogant. I am approachable and make myself available to clients. I am a proactive problem solver being amicable, yet keeping opposing counsel on their toes. I am efficient and mindful of the balance between effectively protecting a client's interests without taking unnecessary legal actions or fees.
In the past, I have enjoyed teaching at a local university, volunteering for several elementary schools and working for some larger law firms. I am a member of the Family Law, Solo and Small Firm, and the Elder Law Sections of the Utah State Bar. I am also a member of the Women Lawyers of Utah Group.
While receiving my Bachelors degree and Juris Doctorate degree I received several recognitions and awards. For instance during law school I received the C. Hugh Friedman Endowed Scholarship Recipient of the Year, 2000-2001 for outstanding performance in the area of corporate law, the Alumni Scholarship in 2000 for demonstrated diversity, strong academic performance and financial need, the Law Alumni Scholarship in 1999 for outstanding academic performance in spite of personal life challenges, and a merit based entrance scholarship. During undergraduate studies I was on the Dean's List, the President's List, the Presidential Honor Roll, and was recipient of the Navy Marine Relief Scholarship for outstanding academic performance, diversity, volunteer work and need. I graduated Summa Cum Laude while being a devoted single mother and community volunteer. |
