The American Association of Law Libraries is the only organization dedicated exclusively to the needs and interests of law librarians and its 5000 members.

Mission Statement
"The American Association of Law Libraries supports and serves its members, promotes and enhances the value of the law libraries, fosters law librarianship, and provides leadership and advocacy in the field of legal information and information policy."

The Association has local and regional Chapters, and supports a Washington Affairs Office. The Association publishes an annual membership Directory, a monthly magazine AALL Spectrum, a quarterly scholarly, Law Library Journal, the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals, and other publications including a biennial Salary Survey. The Association offers regional professional development programs and sponsors an annual meeting and convention that is attended by more than 2000 law librarians each year.
