  • The SEC has adopted final rules regulating the disclosure or release by public companies of financial information not calculated and presented in accordance with GAAP. These rules, which implement Section 401(b) of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, will be effective March 28, 2003. This article summarizes the major provisions of these rules.
