- ITC Institutes Investigation (337-TA-770) Regarding Certain Video Game Systems and Wireless Controllers

On April 20, 2011, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing that it voted to institute an investigation of Certain Video Game Systems and Wireless Controllers, and Components Thereof (Inv. No. 337-TA-770).
The investigation is based on a March 21, 2011 complaint filed by Creative Kingdoms, LLC of Wakefield, Rhode Island and New Kingdoms, LLC of Nehalem, Oregon alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain video game systems and wireless controllers and components thereof that infringe U.S. Patent Nos. 7,500,917, 6,761,637, 7,850,527, and 7,896,742.
According to the Notice of Investigation, the ITC has identified Nintendo Co., Ltd. of Japan and Nintendo of America, Inc. of Redmond, Washington as respondents in this investigation.
In addition, Chief ALJ Paul J. Luckern issued a notice indicating that Charles E. Bullock will be the presiding Administrative Law Judge in this investigation.
