  • Despite litigation by the Basel Action Network (BAN) and controversy in the United Kingdom over the acceptance of ships for scrapping at a shipyard in Teesside, England, the Maritime Administration (MARAD) has managed to export four ships for disposal at a foreign yard for the first time since the Clinton Administration barred the overseas sale of MARAD's obsolete vessels.
