Christopher P. Winters graduated from Brigham Young University in 2004 with a B.A. in Political Science. Mr. Winters attended the University of Kansas School of Law and graduated in May 2009 with his Juris Doctor.
During law school, Mr. Winters served as an Articles Editor for the Kansas Law Review. As a member of the Law Review, Mr. Winters wrote a student comment which was published in January 2009. Mr. Winters also interned for the Honorable Dale L. Somers of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas, and clerked at a general litigation firm in Kansas City, Missouri.
Following his admission to the bar in 2009, Mr. Winters joined Allen, Shepherd, Lewis & Syra, P.A. as an associate. In July, 2016, he became a shareholder with the firm. His practice is concentrated in the areas of personal injury defense, including premises liability, products liability, wrongful death and automobile accidents; defense of professionals including real estate professionals and accountants; insurance coverage; construction defect litigation; workers' compensation; and appeals.
Mr. Winters is admitted to practice in all New Mexico State courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Winters earned the distinction of "Rising Star" in the Southwest Super Lawyers magazine in the area of Personal Injury General: Defense, in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
