Jesse is a trial lawyer on the litigation team at Giddens, Gatton & Jacobus, P.C. He has tried cases to verdict in New Mexico state and federal courts and before the New Mexico Worker's Compensation Administration. Jesse has substantial experience in handling tort cases, and regularly defends companies and governmental entities in litigation over premises liability, civil rights violations, products-related litigation, as well as various other types of personal injury and wrongful death claims. In addition, Jesse also employs his effective and aggressive litigation approach to represent clients in their commercial litigation matters in the defense of employment suits, including claims of wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. His experience includes a wide variety of jury and non-jury trials, arbitrations, mediations and appeals.
Jesse has achieved the AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating possible based on a peer review. He has been recognized as a Southwest Rising Star by Southwest Super Lawyers® and a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation.
The corporate clients with which Jesse has worked include BNSF Railway Co., St. Vincent Hospital, Ameriprise Insurance, Ricoh USA, and one of the world's largest and best known retailers.
Jesse is a native New Mexican and received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico. While attending college, Jesse was a walk-on member of the UNM Varsity Football team. He moved to Chicago, Illinois to attend Chicago-Kent College of Law. Prior to joining the Law Office of George "Dave" Giddens, P.C., Jesse was a shareholder in the litigation department at Modrall-Sperllng, where Jesse successfully managed a heavy caseload and obtained positive results for his clients in litigation matters in several areas including tort, professional liability, construction law, class action, product liability, employment, workers' compensation, real estate and contract disputes. Previously, Jesse served as a judicial law clerk at the New Mexico Court of Appeals to the Honorable James J. Wechsler from 2003-2005. Before becoming a lawyer, Jesse served as an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps, from 1993-1997.
