James A. Chortanian



James Chortanian is senior counsel in WSHB’s Orange County office, where his practice is focused on the defense of physicians, hospitals and other health care providers in medical malpractice cases. He graduated cum laude from Whittier Law School in May 2013 and was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2013. He is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association.

During law school, James excelled in the classroom, receiving numerous scholarships, Dean’s Honor List Awards and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. He also gained valuable practical experience by participating in externships with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the Los Angeles Superior Court and in private practice. In addition to his experience in the medical negligence arena, he has successfully handled complex civil litigation in multiple practice areas.
