Mr. Edward Ian Hecht

Mr. Edward Ian Hecht: Attorney with Hecht Family Law

Biography

Ed Hecht is an attorney and divorced father of two who specializes in family law. His unique background as a single father gives him a great understanding of his clients and the challenges they face. He knows what they are going through and how they feel because he's been through it, as well. Ed inherently understands the necessity of being a caring, expert advocate for others going through this painful process.

Compassionate North Atlanta Divorce Attorney

Ed founded Hecht Family Law to be able to help clients who are going through some of life's toughest times, bringing to his position as an Atlanta divorce attorney an understanding of what it's like to be in their shoes because he's also been through a divorce with children, pays child support, and has dealt with alimony and child custody in his own life. Ed is admitted to practice in all Georgia courts (including the Georgia Appeals Court and the Georgia Supreme Court). As a loving, devoted father to two young children (a boy and a girl), he understands the sensitivities involved in helping people who need to be able to co-parent in the raising of their children for years after their marriage ends.

Ed makes a point of being available to his clients when they need him most, even outside normal business hours, because he understands that in family law, divorce, child custody and child support matters, his clients' needs don't always fit within the confines of the working day. His clients receive his personal cell phone number so they may call or text him whenever he is needed. He is passionate in his commitment to his clients, patient in helping them understand the big picture as well as the intricacies, and is an enthusiastic advocate for all who are fortunate to have his representation.

I have known Ed Hecht on a professional and personal level for over 10 years and can say without hesitation or reservation that he is a highly intelligent person of the highest moral and ethical character.
I know that Ed experienced a divorce involving his young children and have, on multiple occasions, seen him interact with his Ex and his children, post divorce. I noted that the children and his former wife were all very comfortable with Ed. His children are loving towards Ed, which indicates to me that Ed understands the importance of a divorce being executed with compassion and understanding.
Ed is an astute, knowledgeable, and trustworthy individual who I recommend unequivocally. Read less

Ed Hecht has been remarkable through my unique circumstances. He was able to achieve what I thought was almost impossible. Because of his assistance, without any doubt, I came out of the situation in a much better place than I was when I called him in my state of panic. Since the occurrence truly placed me in an EMERGENCY situation, timing was crucial; he was there and spent every minute necessary in order to protect me, and what was left from my almost 20 yr marriage. He simplified the legal terms so it all made sense to me. He remained amazingly calm, empathetic and truly professional, even in spite of a mom totally freaking out! He personally knows what it means and feels like being in a post-divorce state since he’s been through his own, he empathizes, and he absolutely knows the law. His ethics and acumen lead him to do everything possible for his clients, to obtain their best outcome. I would not hesitate to send anyone to Ed Hecht, no matter how simple or complicated their own situation is. Read less
