  • An insurer in liquidation denied a defense to a manufacturer of sandblasting products for complaints filed by workers alleging injury through inhalation of silica dust in the course of sandblasting. The lower court denied the insured's application for orders to show cause why the claims should not be allowed, finding that the insurer had properly denied coverage on the basis of the policy's "total pollution exclusion."
