Biography

Christian G. Henry is Of Counsel in our office in Athens, Georgia, and he specializes in government liability, general liability, construction, business litigation, insurance coverage and a variety of appellate matters.

With nearly two decades of litigation experience, Henry has tried numerous jury trials in the superior and state courts of Georgia, and dozens of non-jury trials. He has also handled over 30 appeals in the Georgia Court of Appeals, Supreme Court and 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

His experience extends to nominations for U.S. District Court Judge for the Middle District of Georgia, Justice on the Georgia Supreme Court, Judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals and Judge of the Superior Court for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit.

He has also been the County Attorney for Georgia’s Morgan County for nearly 15 years, a role equivalent to being general counsel for a 200-person enterprise that includes advising county commissioners and staff on all matters of county business, rules and regulations.

An active member of the State Bar of Georgia, Christian is the secretary of the Local Government section and he has served as president of the County Attorneys section of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia. He is also a member of the Georgia Municipal Association.

Christian holds a Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Georgia.

While in law school, he was a member of the Cumberland Law Review and a Scholar of Merit for Contracts II. He also taught legal research and writing to first-year law students as a Cordell Hull Teaching Fellow.

He lives in Madison, Georgia, with his wife and two children. He is a Deacon at Madison Baptist Church, and has served as President of the Kiwanis Club of Madison.

EXPERIENCE

Christian thrives on trying unusual or complex cases that require significant focus, attention to detail, deep legal acumen and often involve unique issues of fact and questions of law. These cases often end up in appellate courts, where he also excels in obtaining successful outcomes for clients in the government and private sector.
