Prior to graduating from South Carolina School of Law, Ben graduated with a Mathematics degree from the University of Alabama and with his Masters in Sports Management from the University of Southern Mississippi. At South Carolina, Ben was a member of the Mock Trial Bar, Journal of Law and Education, and Student Bar Association. He also founded the Sports and Entertainment Law Society during his first year and led South Carolina’s first ever team to compete at Tulane’s National Baseball Arbitration Competition in his third year.
Ben has authored two legal publications. During a summer clerkship with Judge Tom Wright of the Third Circuit Court of Tennessee, the two co-authored Concubines, Dead Partners, and the Standard of Clear and Convincing Evidence, which appeared in the February 2015 Edition of the Tennessee Bar Journal. He also published an academic article titled, Wrigley Field, the Trademark, in the Spring 2017 Edition of the Pace Intellectual Property, Sports and Entertainment Law Forum that examined the possibility of sports stadiums receiving trade dress protection. When Ben is not working, he is coaching church league youth basketball at Dunwoody United Methodist Church.
