Hahnah is an associate in the Environmental and Natural Resources Practice Group. She represents energy, manufacturing, retail pharmacy, scrap metal recycling, auto salvaging, and local government clients in all aspects of environmental law, most particularly the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and state counterparts. Her experience includes environmental litigation, environmental regulatory compliance counseling, federal and state environmental enforcement defense, and regulatory policy advocacy.
Prior to joining Troutman Sanders in 2010, Hahnah worked as a Critical Care Registered Nurse in various settings, including Level-1 Trauma Centers in Atlanta, Georgia and Baltimore, Maryland. As a registered nurse, she provided direct patient care in a highly regulated environment. Hahnah has nearly a decade of experience working as a registered nurse in the healthcare industry.
Represented a group of major southeastern utility companies in the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule rulemaking and subsequent appellate litigation before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ultimately resulting in the vacatur and remand of the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, EME Homer City Generation v. EPA, 696 F.3d 7 (D.C. Cir. 2012).
Represented major southeastern scrap metal recycling and auto salvaging company in a state environmental enforcement action arising under the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act and Georgia Water Quality Control Act.
Represented local government in a federal environmental enforcement action arising under the Clean Air Act.
Assisting in the representation of a major southeastern utility company in a breach of contract case in state court.
Advising national retail pharmacy chain on various pharmaceutical waste issues arising under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and state counterparts.
Counseling major southeastern utility company in environmental release notification requirements arising under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act.
Advised international pulp and paper manufacturing company on permitting issues arising under the Clean Water Act's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit program.
Advising southeastern utility company in policy implications of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Justice directives.
