Jackson’s experience ranges from small-scale net metering projects to large, utility-scale projects. Most recently, he was the lead associate on the Eversheds Sutherland (US) team that advised a utility client in its acquisition and development of a 150-MW solar project located in Texas. This work involved negotiating the acquisition of the project from the developer, advising on the engineering, procurement and construction agreement for the project, and assisting with various other development-related aspects.
Prior to joining the firm, Jackson participated in Eversheds Sutherland’s Summer Associate program.
Broad-based energy practice
Represented Consolidated Edison Development in the sale of a project company developing a 180-MW AC solar photovoltaic electric generating facility in Texas and in the negotiation of related EPC and operational maintenance agreements.
Represented a large construction company in the negotiation of an EPC agreement for the construction of a $1 billion-plus transmission line in the Midwest.
Represented a renewable energy developer, owner and operator in the renegotiation of an EPC agreement for a 335-MW solar generation facility in California.
Served as local counsel to an independent power producer in its acquisition of a portfolio of approximately 2,800 MW of generating assets in Georgia.
Advised an Australian-based LNG developer on the acquisition of a development-stage LNG export project in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Represented a renewable energy developer, owner and operator in its acquisition of a 95-MW solar generation facility in Texas.
Represented a renewable energy developer, owner and operator in its acquisition of a 50% interest in a 335-MW solar generation facility in Northern California.
Represented Rockland Capital in acquiring a 290-MW natural gas power plant.
Represented Consolidated Edison Development Inc. in connection with its acquisition of a Texas solar project for $227 million from OCI Solar Power.
Assisted a renewable energy developer, owner and operator in its acquisition of a 116-MW development-stage solar project in Texas.
Represented an electric generation and transmission cooperative in the acquisition of a research and development company focused on grid modernization and demand response.
Represented X-ELIO North America, Inc. in the acquisition of Lily Solar, LLC, which owned the development assets for an approximately 70-MWac / 103-MWdc solar generating facility in South Carolina from NARENCO, and advised on related agreements.

Represented an electric distribution and transmission cooperative in the proposed divestiture of power generation equipment.
Advised an electric generation and transmission cooperative on a form of purchase agreement related to a purchase option for a combined-cycle generating facility with an aggregate capacity of more than 500 MW.
Advises a US wind energy development development company on the negotiation of power purchase agreements with seven electric utilities.
Represented an electric generation and transmission cooperative in negotiating tolling agreements for a 500-MW combined-cycle generating facility and for combustion turbines with total capacity of more than 325 MW.
Represents a South Carolina electricity and natural gas provider in its agreement with Clean Energy Collective to develop community solar projects and to provide customer rate credits.
Represented an electric generation and transmission cooperative in connection with several taxable and tax-exempt bond offerings.
Served as underwriter's counsel in connection with debt restructuring for one of the country's largest electric generation and transmission cooperatives.
