Matthew T. Porter is an associate in the Atlanta office of Smith Currie. Matt concentrates his practice in the areas of construction law and litigation, including representation of contractors, construction managers, major trade contractors, sureties, architects, and engineers.

Matt graduated with highest honors from Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction, with a minor in Economics. Matt then received his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Prior to going to law school Matt interned and worked as a Project Engineer for two major construction companies. Matt gained experience in construction of large commercial building projects (schools and high rise housing). His construction background provides him with insight and first-hand experience with the issues that contractors face in large commercial projects.
