Biography

Pete Pappas serves as a co-head of the Eversheds Sutherland Global Intellectual Property Group, and counsels clients in a variety of global industries-including energy, chemical, manufacturing and fashion brand companies-on all aspects of product development and intellectual property protection, transactions and controversies. With a degree in chemical engineering, Pete focuses on chemical and mechanical patent prosecution and disputes such as Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs), as well as federal trademark prosecution, cancellation and opposition proceedings, trade secrets, copyrights, transaction diligence, negotiation and drafting of IP terms in agreements, licensing, validity and infringement opinions, and litigation support.

Pete has substantial experience in intellectual property matters concerning packaged beverage manufacturing, colloids, food chemistry, petroleum products, renewable energy, polymeric nonwoven products and manufacturing equipment, paper technology, water treatment, flexible packaging, textiles, apparel and fashion brands, agricultural chemicals, printing, carbon black, polymer extrusion equipment, latex gloves, xerography, electro-chemistry, electro-luminescence, ceramics and other aspects of polymer technology. Pete is registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Experience

“Patents can be among a corporation’s most valuable assets, but many corporations fail to realize the full value of their issued patents.
