  • Delphi Automotive PLC, an automotive parts manufacturer, announced this week that it has joined the Automotive Information and Sharing Analysis Center, the automotive industry’s hub for addressing cyber-security threats to connected vehicles. The Center counts a majority of U.S. automakers, including General Motors and Fiat Chrysler, among its members and was formed to enable the sharing of information between manufacturers concerning cyber-security threats. Delphi’s membership comes just weeks after the FBI and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warned that newer vehicles are increasingly vulnerable to cyber-attacks that can pose risks to the security of driver data and the safe operation of vehicles. The United Kingdom based Delphi is the first non-automaker to join the group.
