Biography

Michael C. Brook practices in the area of litigation with a focus on complex commercial, employment and transportation litigation. Mr. Brook represents financial institutions, business entities, and individual clients in matters i n federal and state courts, and has represented clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigation and risk assessment, large volume electronic discovery, and appeals. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of matters, including contractual disputes, class actions, products liability, maritime law, tort-based actions and violation of consumer protection statutes.

In addit ion, Mr. Brook regularly counsels employers and business es on employment law issues, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing the workplace. He defends employers in litigation in cases involving alleged harassment and discrimination, retaliation, and non-compete and trade secret claims . He also assists with updating on e of the leading trea tises on Maryland employment law, Maryland Employment Law Forms and Practice Manual, which provides a practical focus on day-to - day legal issues relating to the employee/employer relationship .

Mr. Brook is a 2016 summa cum laude graduate of University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was associate articles editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review, and a 2013 graduate of University of Maryland. Mr. Brook speaks Russian.
