C. Cohron “Buddy” Crutchfield, Jr. joined Germer as a partner in 2005, bringing to the firm over 50 years of legal experience in commercial transactions involving the financing, construction, acquisition and sale of multi-family apartment complexes, retail shopping centers, office buildings, and other commercial properties. He has also advised and represented clients in the formation and operation of various types of business entities and successfully concluded numerous tax deferred exchange transactions. Throughout his career, Buddy has represented investors, developers and lenders with financing, construction, acquisition and substantial rehabilitation of multi-family apartment projects pursuant to mortgage insurance programs offered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in each of the Texas HUD offices, as well as with HUD offices in other states. He has also represented purchasers and sellers of multi-family residential and medical facility properties subject to HUD-insured loans to effect compliance with HUD regulations relating to transfers of ownership. After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas in 1954, Buddy served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Captain. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1959 and moved to Beaumont, Texas, where he founded the law firm of Crutchfield & DeCordova. The firm remained in continuous existence until 2005. Buddy has been recognized by “The Best Lawyers in America”, by BL Rankings, since 2006 and has continued to hold an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell for many years.

Mr. Crutchfield practices in the areas of business transactions , real property acquisition, disposition and development, formation of business entities, corporate, estate planning , real estate development, and commercial mortgage lending transactions.
