Alicia began practicing law in Birmingham in 1999, and joined Starnes Davis Florie LLP in 2002. She is a partner in the firm. Alicia’s practice is currently devoted to the defense of long-term care/nursing home facilities in wrongful death and negligence actions. Before focusing exclusively on nursing home litigation, Alicia represented physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases, participating in several jury trials. In addition, Alicia defended financial institutions, including banks and mortgage companies, in commercial litigation matters.

Prior to working at Starnes, Alicia defended employers in labor and employment matters, including sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and lawsuits brought under the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Alicia also represented financial institutions in adversary proceedings and creditors in collection matters.

Fun Facts

Alicia is an avid exerciser and is a member of Resolute Running, IronTribe Fitness - a CrossFit affiliate. She has completed several marathons and half marathons. Alicia is a mother of twins and enjoying spending time with her family and traveling.

Community Involvement

•Alicia has been appointed to the Board for The ARC of Jefferson County and is a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and a supporter of Forgotten Children Ministries, an organization that rescues homeless boys from the streets of Honduras.
•Previously, Alicia was a member of the Charter Class of the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Leadership UAB and served on the Young Supporters Board of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
