Prior to joining the firm, she served as a clerk for the Honorable Karon Bowdre, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. While in law school, Alyse worked as an extern for the United States Department of State of the Legal Adviser in Washington, D.C., and as a research assistant for an international law professor. What is the best part of your job?

I love the problem solving aspect of my job. Each case I work on is like a jigsaw puzzle. At first, the puzzle is chaotic and unorganized, and it may seem like the pieces will never come together. But with a little time and hard work, I am able to figure out how the pieces fit together and to find a solution to my client's legal problem.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a certified baton twirling judge with the United States Twirling Association. I spend my spare time judging baton twirling competitions, traveling, or spending time with my husband, Robert, and our dogs, Mia and Susie.

Who has inspired you in your career?

I am inspired by other strong, intelligent female attorneys including, among others, Chief Judge Karon Bowdre of the Northern District of Alabama. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to clerk for Judge Bowdre and to learn from her experience as judge, lawyer, wife, and mother.
