For more than 40 years, Lee has focused on defense and prosecution of lawsuits in state and federal courts, including defending all types of class action law suits for businesses and business owners who have been sued or wronged. In his practice, Lee defends lender liability claims, including claims under FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA, fraud, negligence, wrongful foreclosure, breach of contract, and arbitration of claims.

Why did you become an attorney?

My father was an attorney and had many attorney friends. I wanted to do the same type of work that they had been doing. Also, I clerked for and then worked for an attorney who was elected to the Alabama Supreme Court. He showed me the beauty and duties of actually practicing law.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is to learn from the client how his/her business works so that I can resolve the problem the client sought my assistance with in an inexpensive way that will enhance the client’s business.

What are you most proud of in your practice?

My practice in litigation sometimes, more often than not, involves complex business litigation. Many cases require some innovative thinking. I feel that I have handled many cases for the defense that started out as putative class actions, and I helped make them a more simple non-class action case by defeating the plaintiff’s attempts to certify the case as a class action. I also filed a counterclaim in one case based on an innovative Robinson Patman Act antitrust claim, which I argued in the U.S. Supreme Court.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is to learn from the client how his/her business works so that I can resolve the problem for which the client sought my assistance in an inexpensive way that will enhance the client’s business.
