Why did you become an attorney?

I have always enjoyed solving puzzles. Most legal issues are nothing more than puzzles begging for solutions. I enjoy what I do as an attorney.

What is the best part of your job?

Helping families and businesses reach their goals and seeing the satisfaction in my clients when goals are achieved.

Who has inspired you in your career?

My wife, parents, and grandparents teach and have taught me to do the best I can to help others and make a situation better than how I found it. Everything I have learned in my life confirms this is what it is all about.

What are you most proud of in your practice?

I take great satisfaction in situations where I work with my client to assess a problem, collaborate with my client in solving the problem, and then implement the solution. Everything else is lagniappe.

What do you think are the three most important things you do to serve your clients?

Listen to my client. Then I listen some more. Fully understand my client’s situation and goals. I think through all of the ways to best accomplish those goals using all of the resources available to me. I share with my client what I know about the problem and share my experiences in similar situations. I'll collaborate with my client regarding all of the different ways and means of reaching the goals and develop a plan. Then I work as hard as I can with my teammates to achieve those goals. I suppose that is more than three things.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Sharing my life with my wife, my daughter, and my son. Serving in my church. And waiting for the day the Baltimore Orioles win something meaningful.
