Biography

Chris Christie represents fiduciaries, plans, and insurers in ERISA and other employee benefits litigation, as well as healthcare providers and managed care organizations. He has handled numerous class actions, False Claims Act cases, multi-district litigation (MDL) cases, and other complex litigation. Many of his cases have involved financial, valuation, or statistical experts. Chris also advised clients on matters related to COBRA, HIPAA, and other similar laws.

Who has inspired you in your career?

Two judges inspired me. Judge Stuart Leach, my only uncle, was the Presiding Judge of the Jefferson County Circuit Court and later an attorney at Sirote. He had the best positive attitude and kind words for all. U.S. District Judge Seybourn Lynne hired me as his law clerk for 1987-88. He taught me so much about how to apply the law and resolve challenging situations.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Time is usually my most scarce resource. How one spends his or her scarce resources shows what he or she considers most important. I like to spend my spare time with my family. Primarily, that is my wife, three grown children, and my Mom, but also includes my sister and her family, and many in-laws.

What do you think are the three most important things you do to serve your clients?

To serve my clients, I need to listen, to work hard, and to remember lawyers help clients resolve legal problems that are often the most important and stressful issues in their lives.
