Jeff's practice consists of representing both local and national lenders in the REO resale of foreclosed residential and commercial properties throughout Alabama. Jeff served on a special task force that rewrote Alabama's manufactured house titling law which was passed in the 2009 regular legislative session and signed into law by Governor Riley. He hosts an annual statewide seminar before Alabama realtors on issues which pertain to the default industry.
What are you most proud of in your practice?
I was hired by Sirote in 2002. The REO department was in its nascent stage. We were able to grow the practice by providing a commitment to treat our clients with fairness and competency. We began with one client and were able to steadily grow the business over the next 16 years. We’ve hired a wonderful staff, many of whom have been with me well over 15 years. The reward of the job is that I still enjoy getting up every day to serve my clients. Sirote has always enjoyed an impressive business reputation both locally and nationally. I am pleased that we are able to live up to that standard today.
What do you think are the three most important things you do to serve your clients?
1. Communication is the key element to a satisfied client. I stress to our staff that all communications must be returned that same business day. There are many people involved in a closing, and each deserves to be continuously informed of the status.2. Competency. Our clients look to Sirote to make sure that the closing is performed without delay or error. Many of our clients are graded on timelines, and we strive to routinely meet their timelines.3. Knowledge. Our clients look to Sirote to answer their Alabama-specific questions regarding real estate law including foreclosure right of redemption, manufactured house titling issues, and ad valorem tax redemption, to name but a few.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. I have two daughters. My elder daughter is in college, and the other soon will be. My wife and I both enjoy traveling. I have taken recent trips to Cuba and Nicaragua that were very rewarding. I am a graduate of Auburn University and also a big Tigers football fan. I enjoy attending most of the home games where my older daughter currently attends.
