John Michael Barclay litigates on behalf of clients in courts throughout Alabama, from Birmingham and Montgomery to Tuscaloosa, Mobile and the Gulf Coast. As the founding member of Barclay Law LLC, he has nearly a decade of legal experience, with the first five years of his practice having focused primarily on civil matters. He has also proven well-equipped to handle cases ranging from DUI, white collar and other criminal defense, to family law and workers compensation. Early legal career

Mr. Barclay has extensive experience as a litigator, beginning his legal career after graduation from the University of Alabama School of Law by serving as law clerk to The Honorable Robert S. Vance, Jr., Judge in Alabama's 10th Judicial Circuit (Jefferson County). He served as court-appointed criminal defense counsel and practiced with two respected Alabama law firms before establishing Barclay Law LLC. The foundation of Mr. Barclay's legal practice is his commitment to work in partnership with his clients while providing quality, attentive service. He understands that many people who rely on him for help are not familiar with the legal system, and he advises them through aggressive advocacy and full defense of their legal rights.

Local roots

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Barclay has deep roots in the community. He volunteered for the public defender's office and the Red Cross when he was in law school in Tuscaloosa. He is a member of the Alabama Association for Justice, the Birmingham Bar Association, the State Bar of Alabama and other local civic organizations. With a true statewide practice, he continues to expand his client representation throughout Alabama as client needs dictate.
