Biography

A member of the firm's Estate, Wills & Trusts department and named one of the Best Lawyers in America , Katherine handles all aspects of estate planning and administration for clients. Her passion, however, and the focus of much of her practice, involves special needs planning, where Katherine assists clients in providing for a child or family member with special needs in a way that does not jeopardize government benefits. An Alabama Super Lawyer, she also assists those with disabilities who are set to receive a personal injury settlement or inheritance and needs to keep SSI or Medicaid. A fellow for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), Katherine was named Top Attorney, Trusts and Estates, by Birmingham Magazine.
