Biography

Evan Georgopoulos is a partner in our Litigation practice group, where he concentrates on commercial litigation, securities litigation, white collar and business crimes defense, internal investigations and counseling clients on risk management and compliance.

Evan has represented corporate and individual clients in commercial, regulatory and criminal actions in federal and state courts and in investigations, arbitrations and mediations around the country. Evan has represented clients in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and related compliance matters in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Evan has broad experience counseling corporations ranging from international pharmaceutical manufacturers and industry leading retailers to regional universities and individuals ranging from corporate board members to production level employees.

Evan, a former clerk to the Hon. Mark L. Wolf of the United States District Court, also served as Special Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County, where he prosecuted numerous criminal jury and bench trials on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

•Represented a CEO in an insider trading investigation by the SEC and the DOJ resulting in no charges being filed
•Defended a national luxury retailer in a trademark action brought by manufacturing trade association and individual manufacturers
•Represented owner of managed care facilities in a federal public corruption trial to jury verdict of not guilty
•Represented a leading global retailer and several manufacturers in U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) FCPA investigations, and anti-corruption compliance program development, reviews and implementations
•Represented an international manufacturer of consumer goods in numerous state and federal court, individual and class, product liability actions
•Represented international accounting firms in defense of securities class actions
•Represented to favorable resolution government contractors against False Claims Act charges
•Advised on criminal issues in connection with a multi-billion dollar corporate transaction
•Represented an individual campaign contributor in defense of civil RICO claims centering on campaign fundraising misconduct
