Robert Griffin joined Krokidas & Bluestein in 1985. He is the firm’s Managing Partner.

Bob represents a full range of health care and human service organizations including hospitals (Academic Medical Centers, community and specialty hospitals), community health centers, ambulatory surgery centers, and clinics; long-term care, assisted living and senior housing providers; hospice, home health and private home care providers; mental health and substance use treatment providers; adult day health, group adult foster care and day habilitation programs; clinically integrated networks, physician practices, and clinical professionals; special education schools and residential programs, and other community-based service providers. His work includes transactions (mergers, acquisitions, affiliations), regulatory compliance, corporate governance, contracts, legislative and regulatory matters, reimbursement, tax-exempt financing and public charities.

Bob has written and lectured for government, professional and trade organizations, including Massachusetts Office of Attorney General’s Public Charities Division, Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, Massachusetts Council of Community Hospitals, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Senior Care Association, Massachusetts Association of Assisted Living Facilities, Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance, and the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers on topics such as long-term and post-acute care, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, survey and certification, transactions, payment and reimbursement, intermediate sanctions and non-profit governance issues.

Bob is an active community participant and presently serves as chairman on the boards of St. Patrick’s Manor, Marian Manor for the Aged and Infirm, and Carmel Terrace. He serves as President of the Board of Manet Community Health Center. He also serves on the boards of Coastal Heritage Bank, and Bob has served in the past on the boards of DOVE, Massachusetts Association for Mental Health, Bay State Community Services, Carmelite Sisters System, Quincy Medical Center, Very Special Arts of Massachusetts, Cardinal Cushing Centers and Quincy Youth Baseball.

Bob is a Chambers USA Ranked Attorney since 2015; U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Lawyers in America ” since 2006; an AV Peer Rated Attorney (Martindale Hubbell), and a New England Super Lawyers since 2004. In 2011, he received both the South Boston Community Health Center’s Partners in Hope Award and the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Rx for Excellence Award. His past work has been recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for protecting the residents of troubled nursing facilities.

He is a 1975 graduate of Trinity College. He received a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Massachusetts in 1978, and a juris doctor degree from Suffolk Law School in 1983.
