Jamar obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours from the University of the West Indies. He also obtained his Legal Education Certificate ("L.E.C") from the Hugh Wooding Law School (Trinidad) with Honours and was called to the Barbados Bar in 2010. Before joining Chancery, Jamar worked for a global financial services company and international bank dealing primarily with clients based in Latin America and the establishment, cross-border structuring and management of Barbados companies. As CEO of CCSL Jamar deals primarily with clients based in Canada, the United States, Europe and Latin America; in addition to many Barbadian Companies and Associations. His focus is on the establishment, licensing, corporate governance, structuring, maintenance and management of legal entities in Barbados including those with operations in international trade, insurance, finance, property holding and other investment activities.
Jamar is an Accredited Director and holds memberships in the Barbados Bar Association, the Barbados Association of Compliance Professionals, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA) (Canada) and the International Law Association (Caribbean Branch). He participates in the Barbados International Business Association through the membership of CCSL, and has spoken at both independent and employer sponsored conferences and seminars on International Business and topics related to the Barbados financial services sector both in Barbados and overseas.Jamar holds the STEP Certificate in Foundations; STEP Certificate in International Trust Management; STEP Certificate in Trust Creation Law & Practice; STEP Certificate in Trustee Investment & Financial Appraisal; and a Certificate from the UWI in Public Procurement Law and Governance.
