  • On July 30, 2002, President Bush signed into law the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The legislation contains a number of important provisions applicable to public companies. While many of these provisions will require future rulemaking by the SEC, the New York Stock Exchange and/or the Nasdaq National Market, certain provisions become effective immediately and others become effective in stages beginning later this month.
