  • Aggressive signals from the U.K. Serious Fraud Office (SFO) on anti-corruption enforcement are beginning to bear concrete results. While the U.K.'s draft anti-bribery bill continues to await enactment, the SFO has announced guidelines to encourage voluntary disclosure of evidence of overseas corruption offenses; has obtained a guilty plea to overseas corruption by U.K. construction firm Mabey & Johnson Ltd; and has sought approval to initiate prosecution of BAE Systems plc for improper payments in Eastern Europe and Africa.
